Digital Forensics Youtube Channels

Before I started my first year at University, I went looking for some YouTube channels to help with my studies and give me an idea of what to expect when studying Digital Forensics.

13Cubed

13Cubed is based on technical skills within Digital Forensics and Incident Response. There are introduction tutorials on Windows forensics and memory forensics, but majority of the tutorials are intermediate to advanced.

Magnet Forensics

Magnet Forensics is a company who sells Digital Forensics solutions. The majority of the videos on their channel are based on using their products. There is also interviews with industry experts in the Cache Up series which I found helpful for understanding what I will need to learn to get into the industry.

Mobile Forensics Investigations

Mobile Forensics Investigations channel is a little misleading. It is mostly in a podcast format with the host industry experts who talk about their careers, the industry, and current events. The channel did start out with videos on mobile forensics so that's where the name came from.

SANS Digital Forensics and Incident Response

This is the official channel of SANS DFIR channel. SANS is an education and training institute for cyber security and digital forensics. The videos in the channel are in a lecture format and cover all aspects of Digital Forensics and Incident Response. There is also 3MINMAX series which quickly covers topics within 4 minutes if you want to get a quick understanding on how to do something.

SANS Cyber Force

The official SANS Cyber Force channel. Although the channel is based on Cyber Security, there is a lot of useful information that relates to Digital Forensics. The majority of the videos on the channel are in a lecture format.

The OSINT Curious Project

As you can guess from the name, the channel is OSINT based. The videos are actually recordings of livestreams. They include interviews with experts, instructional videos and discussion of current events.

SecurityFWD

Cyber Security is the main focus of this channel but there are a lot of videos that relate OSINT and privacy. There are tutorials on how to use specific tools and discussion of current security news.
